CMDO Winter Camp (Canada)
Organized by the CMDO network in Canada, the winter camp is an opportunity for a week of intensive training in interactive workshops with internationally renowned speakers.
Thanks to the valuable moments of conviviality it offers, the winter camp is a privileged space for networking, opening up to participants new postdoctoral opportunities across the Atlantic in fundamental, clinical, and epidemiological research in the field of cardiometabolic health.

Our partners
Since 2014, ICAN has established strong ties with the Quebec Research Network on Cardiometabolic Health, Diabetes and Obesity (CMDO), with the objective of creating a strategic and long-lasting partnership between France and Quebec for research training in the field of cardiometabolic health, diabetes, and obesity. This transatlantic program each year makes it possible to bring together young research professionals from IHU-ICAN and all Quebec universities on Canadian soil.

In 2023, IHU ICAN was pleased to welcome to Paris young Emirati female researchers from United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in Abu Dhabi for a week of training at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital site.

Lucien Junior Bergeron, PhD – Deputy Director of the CMDO network
“Since 2014, the CMDO community has had the privilege of welcoming the next generation of scientists from France (ICAN) through a student exchange that goes far beyond the transfer of knowledge. During the activities surrounding the winter camp, a flagship event of our network, friendships are formed, leading for some to sustained scientific collaborations with an incredible leverage effect for CMDO research internationally. This French-speaking Quebec week is often a defining milestone for our campers—whether from France or Quebec—combining a cultural experience with a high-level multidisciplinary scientific immersion. Long live this student exchange for the benefit of international research within the CMDO.”
