Training

The impact of obesity, metabolic disorders and cardiovascular disease (CVD) on public health requires an integrated and translational approach ranging from basic research to clinical research and treatment. The aim of the ICAN IHU is to develop integrated strategies to improve prevention and promote personalised medicine based on the identification of preclinical molecular events, predictors of response to treatment and innovative diagnostic tools and therapies.

The growing body of new knowledge in the field of cardiometabolic diseases (CMD) requires training for new generations of doctors and researchers.

Young researcher camps

The ICAN IHU organises training and information weeks (summer camp, autumn camp, winter camp) on pursuing a career with a PhD, aimed at doctoral and post-doctoral students in its ecosystem.

Whether you’re going into public or private research, or simply want to make the most of your PhD in a new professional environment, these camps are for you!

Scientific seminars

In order to share knowledge with our scientific and medical community, the ICAN IHU and UMRS 1166 have set up monthly seminars to communicate and discuss the latest scientific and medical news from the IHU with our community.

Find out more below about the topics and dates of these conferences, which are open to everyone and can be attended online or in person.

University diplomas (DU)

To support training in cardiometabolic professions, the ICAN IHU is a partner in several university diplomas (DU, DIU) or university degrees managed by Sorbonne University. These diplomas help to train healthcare professionals to build the medicine of tomorrow in the fight against cardiometabolic diseases.

Polytech Sorbonne collaboration

ICAN works with POLYTECH Sorbonne engineering students and Master 1 SESI students as part of their second-semester internship project, the aim of which is to propose solutions to the medical challenges faced by clinicians in the ICAN community in their day-to-day practice.

This collaborative work puts ICAN’s scientific and clinical expertise and the engineering students’ expertise at the service of patients in order to improve their quality of life. These projects, which are timed to coincide with the school calendar, are very stimulating for the students, who are working on very practical devices that could well change patients’ lives.
