ICAN’s Scientific Operations team is entirely dedicated to setting up projects from conception to completion, including the key stage of seeking funding.
Each research project is unique and to make it a reality, ICAN provides investigators with a team of project managers to help them structure the project, identify potential partners within the IHU community but also with private partners, anticipate constraints and regulatory procedures and finally finding the most suitable source of financing. Many sources of funding exist (local, national, international, public, private), ICAN is responsible for identifying the best source of funding depending on the project. In collaboration with the investigators, the scientific operations team adapts the set-up of the project in order to give it all the assets to obtain funding.
1/ Position the project in relation to the different sources of financing
- Study of the relevance of the project in relation to the targeted Call for Projects (AAP),
- Evaluation of the excellence and ambition of the project,
- Targeting of the best expertise for the project (consortia and relevant partnerships),
- Study of possible valuations from the design of the project.
2 / Structure the project
- Definition of its implementation strategy (implementation),
- Budgeting,
- Planning and organization,
- Project management and monitoring,
- Economic social impact assessment.
3/ Pre-evaluate the project by peers
4/ Put the odds on your side to obtain financing
- Assistance in drafting proposals in line with the specificities of the AAP,
- Use of professional tools and methodologies specifically dedicated to R&D project management.
