The Le Triomphe du Cœur endowment fund renewed its sponsorship of the IHU ICAN in 2025 for the third consecutive year, supporting the OPTIM-HCM project led by Professor Philippe Charron and his team.
Le Triomphe du Cœur’s mission is to support innovative research projects focused on sudden adult death and to raise public awareness of the importance of learning life-saving techniques.
Since 2023, more than €75,000 has been donated to the OPTIM-HCM project thanks to the tremendous energy of a family committed to the public interest and leading fundraising initiatives for research.

What is the objective of the OPTIM-HCM project? To optimize clinical decision-making.
The OPTIM-HCM project aims to develop an innovative prediction model combining genetic, cardiac imaging, and clinical data to optimize therapeutic decision-making for the implantation of ICDs (implantable cardioverter defibrillators) in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).
The goal is to improve patient safety, reduce mortality, and provide more accurate recommendations for clinical practice.
Understanding Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

- Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a genetic heart disease characterized by abnormal thickening of the heart muscle, which stiffens the left ventricle and impairs the heart’s pumping function.
- It can cause arrhythmias and is a major cause of sudden death in adults, particularly young adults.
- The implantation of an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) remains the main preventive measure today, but the indications are complex and require a precise assessment of the risks for each patient.
Valuable support for research
Thanks to renewed sponsorship from Triomphe du Cœur, the team can continue its research and consolidate its results. This partnership illustrates how sponsorship accelerates innovation.
We would like to extend our warmest thanks to TRIOMPHE DU COEUR for its invaluable support!
